In April 2004, SFC Proctor made his 30th jump as an 82nd ABN paratrooper. Being a Jumpmaster (paratrooper who graduates from the intense Jumpmaster Course and controls personnel, training, rigging, inspections, loading and exiting the aircraft in an ABN operation), he earned his "Jumpmaster Star" or "Senior Parachutist Badge" A Senior Parachutist is defined as this:

"SENIOR Parachutist: Participated in a minimum of 30 jumps to include 15 jumps with combat equipment; two night jumps, one of which is as jumpmaster of a stick; two mass tactical jumps which culminate in an airborne assault problem; graduated from the Jumpmaster Course; and served on jump status with an airborne unit or other organization authorized parachutists for a total of at least 24 months."

In the ceremony pictured on this page, SFC Proctor's wife pinned on the Senior Parachutist Badge, replacing normal ABN wings which every paratrooper wears.
